This section describes the steps that should be followed in order to perform these tests.

Overhead Squat

The objective of this assessment is to observe for total body neuromuscular efficiency, integrated functional strength, functional flexibility.

 

Procedure:

  1. Subject should lift a barbell with no weights over their head.

  2. A fitness professional  experienced with this test should record in the Lexabean software the following information. These are all Yes/No check boxes - so entering this data should be quick and easy. Where appropriate - the left and right side are entered separately.

  • For both the left and right feet: Foot Flattens; Foot turns outward; Heel of foot rises, Knee Buckle Inward, Knees Buckle outward.

  • Lumbo-Pelvic-Hip Complex:  Asymmetrical Weight Shift; Low back arches; Low Back Rounds; Abdomen Protrudes;

  • Upper body: Arms Fall Forward; Elbows flex; Shoulder Abduction; Shoulder Protraction; Shoulder Elevation; Scapulae Winging; Forward head.

 

 
 
Gait: Treadmill Walking

The objective of this assessment is to gather general information regarding a subjects dynamic posture. This should be used for a general warm up of approximately five minutes.

Procedure:

  1. Subject should be walking at a comfortable pace on a treadmill.

  2. A fitness professional  experienced with this test should record in the Lexabean software the following information. These are all Yes/No check boxes - so entering this data should be quick and easy. Where appropriate - the left and right side are entered separately.

  • Legs: Foot flattens, foot turns outward, knees buckle inward, knees buckle outward.

  • Upper Body:   Asymmetrical weight shift, low back arches, abdominal  protrudes, shoulder protraction, should elevation, forward head.
