Lexabean will provide via a CD or secure download a package that includes all of the software that you need to support our application. This will typically get installed on your desktop under program files\lexabean\bycb for BYCB users and program files\lexabean\byob for BYOB users.
The distribution CD from Lexabean contains a number of files that end in .prc and .pdb . The .prc files are software and the .pdb files are PDA databases and videos. All of these files as well as the Kinoma viewer need to be downloaded into your PDA. In order to do this, follow the instructions below for Palm products or follow the instructions for your specific PDA. See Alternative Method below for PDAs using Palm Desktop 4.1 (or later).
-AFTER INITIAL DESKTOP INSTALL-
1. Click on the Start button in the lower left corner of your screen.
2. Select the following menu items: Programs, Palm Desktop, Install Tool
3. The Install Tool dialog box will open. An example of this box is shown below. Select the correct User name by using the drop down menu located at the top of the box.
4. Click the Add button and a new dialog box will open. Specify the correct directory where the BYOB software was installed. Standard installation will save the program to C:\Program Files\Lexabean\BYOB\HotSync2Palm
6. Select all of the .pdb and .prc files in this folder and select the Open button to add them to the install tool dialog.
7. This list of files will be installed next time a HotSync operation is performed. A message will appear saying that the list of files will be installed next time a HotSync operation is performed. Click OK.
