A little history is the best way to start. Pocket PC is an Operating System developed by Microsoft. It replaces an earlier Microsoft Operating System called Windows CE. This is a competitive platform to PDAs that run the Operating System that Palm provides (simply referred to as Palm OS). There are several vendors who provide handhelds that are compatible with Pocket PC. The largest is HP with its IPAQ series. But, there are also vendors, including ones who provided Ruggedized Pocket PCs. This would be of value to anyone concerned about the stress on a PDA in a gym environment. It should be noted that Lexabean does not sell Pocket PC devices nor does it sell any Palm devices. As a result, we do will not attempt to advocate one platform over the other. All we will say is that both are well established platforms. Lexabean is committed to ensuring its software works equally as well on both platforms. Any platform specific features that may be of value to our users will certainly be taken advantage of.
